Format of the Meeting Is Unfeasible: Armenia's President Statement

Taking into consideration the fact that, out of those invited to the presidential residence for a meeting on March 13, the My Step and Bright Armenia parliamentary factions have accepted the invitation, but the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction and the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement have offered their agenda and set conditions for the meeting, at this moment, the format of the meeting is unfeasible, the press service of the President of Armenia informs.

“President Armen Sarkissian will continue to make efforts and is ready to have personal meetings with the invitees, as well as the deputies who are not part of the factions of the National Assembly and representatives of various extra-parliamentary political forces.

These meetings will provide the opportunity to listen to everyone’s views again, further specify the stances and, based on those stances, form the working agenda.

The President of Armenia reaffirms his conviction that the only path to settling differences is negotiation and dialogue, and it is necessary to do everything possible to keep the country away from turbulence'', the statement reads.
