Criminal Persecution against Armenia’s Second President and Other Ex-Top Officials under Article 300.1 Terminated

Yerevan court of general jurisdiction chaired by judge Anna Danibekyan ruled to terminate the criminal persecution against Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan and other ex-top officials under Article 300.1 of Armenia’s Criminal Code recognized unconstitutional and invalid by the Constitutional Court, Aysor.am reports. 

During the previous hearing the prosecutors objected the demand of the defenders to terminate the criminal persecution under the mentioned article.

Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan had stated that the judge should terminate the case proceeding and apply to the CC to decide the issue of constitutionality of few provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.
