Artsakh doesn’t oppose the relations of Armenia and Azerbaijan to be improved, but considers it unacceptable to recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister of Artsakh Davit Babayan told reporters. He said that recognizing Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan would lead to a war, bloodshed, genocide or exodus of Armenians from Artsakh, Armenpress reports.
Asked whether or not they received clarifications around this issue during the visit, he said: “During the two meetings, of course there were explanations that no one is planning to abandon Artsakh or recognize it as part of Azerbaijan. Now we must engage in a very flexible policy.” The delegation had meetings with the Secretary of the Security Council and the Speaker of Parliament.
The delegation will meet with PM Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Mirzoyan on October 15.
A meeting with President Vahagn Khachaturyan is expected before that.
He said the discussions were very sincere.
