A Draft Bill Criminalizing Denial of Armenian Genocide in the Parliament of Cyprus

The political parties of the Republic of Cyprus have drafted a bill criminalizing non-recognition or denial of the Armenian Genocide, armenpress reports referring to Hurriyet. The bill envisages penalties for those who do not recognize genocide, war crimes and the crimes against humanity.

As the source reports the bill is supposed to be adopted on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The bill is assumed to be included on the agenda of the Parliament of Cyprus this week.
