Advser to Turkish Prime Minister Etyen Mahçupyan declared in London that he recognizes the 1915 events as Genocide, armeniangenocide100.org writes referring to 1in.am. According to the source, this was declared during a round-table discussion in the British Parliament.
"I have previously said that I feel more Ottoman than Armenian. I am not a nationalist, but when it comes to 1915 events, I use the term "Armenian Genocide." I think that what happend is Genocide, as the term "genocide" and what happened in 1915 correspond each other. If we change the definition of the term genocide, then it can be considered as not genocide. Many may not understand me, but genocide is not a historical, but a legal term," – Mahçupyan said.
