On Thursday, the Parliament of Cyprus will vote on the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, Armenpress reports. The bill sets punishment for those who deny genocide, crimes against humanity. The bill, which was presented to the Parliament of Cyprus by a representative of Armenian community in Cyprus, requires criminal responsibility for the denial of genocides.
If the bill is adopted, those denying genocide will be given five years of imprisonment and will pay fine worth of 10,000 euros.
