Recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center predicts that the number of followers of Muslim will have the biggest increase as compared to other religions by 2050.
Followers of Muslims alone are predicted to increase their numbers faster than the world’s population as a whole.
The study results are as follows: in 2010 Christianity accounted for 32% of the world’s believers, with 2.2 billion Christians worldwide of the global population of 6.9 billion.
Islam came in a close second with 1.6 billion followers, representing 23%.
This patterns of increase give ground to assume that the number of followers of Muslin will become equal to Christians by 2050 and may exceed it by 2070.
