Shahbaz Guliyev, an Azerbaijani lawyer, who was sentenced in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) into 22 years of imprisonment, is going to appeal to Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court of NKR. As news.am reports, Guliyev’s lawyer Arkady Israelian spoke with his client, and Guliyev took such a decision.
Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev, accompanied by Hasan Hasanov, on June 29 crossed the border, armed with weapons and ammunition. Three of them kidnapped an Armenian boy and later murdered him, later on, on July 11, they attacked and killed one man and severely wounded a woman on the Vardenis-Karvachar Highway. Hasan Hasanov was later killed during a struggle with the Armenian Armed Forces as the soldiers attempted to capture the saboteurs.
The Karabakh Court gave a life sentence for Askerov and 22 years in prison for Guliyev.
