Today an international conference is organized in Brussels , focusing on the humanitarian needs of the Central African Republic (CAR). The EU, which is a major partner of the CAR, is increasing its financial support to the country which is still living with the impact of recent conflict.
High Representative and Vice-President Federica Mogherini heads the meeting together with the Commissioners for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, and for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, EU official website reports.
"After years of conflict, the people of the Central African Republic deserve a present and a future of peace. Since the beginning of this crisis, we as the EU have been by their side to help bring recovery, stability and development to the country. With today's conference, we reaffirm our commitment, together with our international partners, to support them on their path towards recovery and peace", - said Federica Mogherini.
