Armenian Ministry of Education and Science has decided not to send Armenian schoolchildren to Baku for participation in the 47th International Olympiad on Chemistry. The reason for such a decision is the absence of security guarantees from the Azerbaijani side, armenianow.com reports.
The statement of the Ministry of Education and Science states that the deadline for applications was June 15 and by then the Azerbaijani side has failed to provide security guarantees.
"Therefore, proceeding from the considerations of children’s security, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia has to abandon the decision to send schoolchildren to Baku," the statement says.
