A spokesperson for the Germany’s government declared that German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande are unanimous in considering that the outcomes of the Greek referendum should be respected, Sputnik News reports.

"Both leaders were unanimous in their opinion that the will of the Greek citizens should be treated with respect," the spokesperson said, commenting on a telephone conversation between the German and French leaders that took place on Sunday evening.

According to the referendum results 61 percent of voters in Greece said "no" to the bailout proposals, while about 39 percent supported the deal.
