Today, on March 16 the National Assembly of Armenia unanimously passed a bill that provides changes to the law on value added tax and do not charge 20% VAT on the import of individual cars from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). During the voting there were even no abstentions.
During the debate before the vote it was stressed that the collection of VAT when importing a car by an individual from EAEU countries is illegal, since in the relevant Member State of the Union the tax is already being paid.
