Western leaders on Wednesday welcomed the pardon of former Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko as an advanced step that may bring positive impulses to the process of implementation of the Minsk Agreements, TASS reports.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in his speech noted that Savchenko’s pardon and return to Ukraine is are good news that that have been waiting for and that they have been working on so long.
Steinmeier expressed the hope that today’s events tend to promote the establishment for trust between Ukraine and Russia and may thus give positive impulses to the Minsk process.
