Bundestag Deputy Cem Ozdemir Receives Death Threats by Turks

The co-chair of the Greens in Germany, a Turkish-origin German politician Cem Ozdemir, who is the co-author of the Armenian Genocide bill, is under police protection after German Bundestag recognized the Armenian Genocide. 

Cem Ozdemir, who played an active role in the approval of the bill, has been receiving death threats since the vote on June 2, his executive assistant said on June 5, Hurriyet reports.

The threats, which were sent via social media, e-mail and letters, were collected by Greens officials and the police are investigating their origins.

Ozdemir’s family and house are also placed under protection.
