Armenia's Greco-Roma wrestler Arthur Alexanyan won the first gold medal in Rio 2016 and dedicated his victory to the Armenian soldiers on the borders and to those heroes, who died during the April four-day war.

"I am happy and proud that after 20 years of pause again Armenia wins gold in the Olympic Games. After the April war, I was very stressful and still then I decided that if I become a champion, I will wear this shirt. I dedicate my victory to the soldiers on the borders and all those soldiers, who died during the war. As for Mihran, he a champion for me, he is a champion for the whole world. We should have two gold today," Aleksanyan said.
