The European Parliament is planning to impose new sanctions against Russia because of the situation in Aleppo, the Newspaper reports.
A draft resolution initiated by the Alliance of liberals and Democrats, almost unanimously supported by all political groups of the EP, will be considered at the next meeting of the members of the European Parliament, which will be held on Thursday, October 6.
"The situation in the Syrian province of Aleppo – a vivid example of the failure of diplomacy. The international community lacks the tools to enforce existing agreements… Since like a year ago, Russia launched a military operation in Syria, Aleppo has turned into a hell," said the head of the ALDE group guy Verhofstadt.
