The United Nations has called for a "massive response" to help Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew which struck the impoverished island a week ago, Euronews reports.
An appeal has gone out for 119 million dollars to bring life-saving assistance to 750,000 people in Haiti's south west.
The destruction in some areas is complete.
Besides food and medical shortages, materials are needed to build shelters.
