The British economy will lose more than £25bn a year if it decides to withdraw from the EU customs union, Raoul Ruparel, a new government adviser on Brexit said, The Guardian reports.
According to him, leaving the customs union would reduce GDP by between 1 and 1.2% in the long term. At the same time he believes that there is no question of the UK staying in Europe’s free-trade bloc.
