EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini, after an emergency meeting of Foreign Ministers that was held to discuss the results of the US presidential elections, emphasized that the EU won’t change its policy towards Russia, even if the US does it.
According to Mogerini, the EU has "a very principled position on the annexation of Crimea and the situation in Ukraine. She also added, that EU's position will be remained regardless of possible shifts in others’ policies." Besides that, as Mogerini said, EU continues an effective dialogue with Russia on a number of international issues, for example on Iran.
