The Spokesman of President of Nagorno Karabakh Republic Davit Babayan emphasized that the European Parliament must react strongly to the inroads by Azerbaijani authorities. In his words, however, the present-day abnormal situation in Azerbaijan is to some extent a consequence of the passive position of the international community. According to him, "Azerbaijan is terrorist state."
As News informs, commenting on Baku’s most recent “initiative,” according to which Azerbaijan issues international arrest warrants for Euorpean lawmakers for visiting NKR, Babayan stressed that the reason is an an absence of reaction by European institutions, including the European Parliament After the arrest of Lapshin. He also added that MEPs have immunity, they are bearers of European values, and they have done nothing objectionable.
Beside that, Babayan noted that after the developments in connection with Israeli Russian blogger Alexander Lapshin, who was extradited to Azerbaijan for visiting Karabakh, the number of people wishing to visit the NKR has increased dramatically.
