Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Stefan Dyuzharrik noted that the UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed concerns over the escalation of the situation in the Karabakh conflict and called on the sides to adhere to the ceasefire regime, TASS reports.
"We are concerned about the recent reports on the clashes along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh," Dyuzharrik noted.
The Spokesman underscored that the UN Secretary-General fully supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at "reducing of the dangerous level of the tension and preventing the further escalation of the situation."
Stefan Dyuzharrik also transferred António Guterres’s call addressed to the sides "to refrain from any actions that can cause damage to the ceasefire agreement and immediately resume the substantive negotiations aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict."
