The cancellation of a Turkish minister’s meeting with Turkish nationals in Germany is another example of "systematic implementation of the German deep state" against Turkish government figures who want to campaign in a country where around 3 million Turks live, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has claimed, Hurriyet reports.
"This is a systematic move of the German deep state," Çavuşoğlu told reporters on March 3, after German local authorities cancelled a meeting Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ was supposed to hold late on March 2.
"This move of Germany denounces democracy, the right to assembly and freedom of expression," Çavuşoğlu said, describing the cancellation of Bozdağ’s meeting as a pure example of "Germany and the Western world’s double-standards on democratic implementations."
