The independence referendum of Kurdistan will take place on time in September as planned and there is no turning back on this issue, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani said in an interview with FRANCE 24, BasNews reports.
The Kurdish leader revealed that he has already pushed back a request by US President Donald Trump who had asked him to postpone the vote, noting that any attempt to thwart the vote would lead to "catastrophe" and the risk of a "bloody war".
