At a meeting with Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan, French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacôt informed that the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed recently between Armenia and the European Union, as well as Armenia taking over the chairmanship of La Francophonie Ministerial Conference play key roles in boosting the Armenian-French relations, including the economic cooperation, the Ministry’s press service reports.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of the the expected visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Armenia.
Lacôte informed that the French businesses in Armenia are planning to expand. The French official added he has already met with some investors and can assure that they are willing to invest in Armenia given the country’s export opportunities to European, Eurasian and Iranian markets.
"We are ready to support the French businesses operating in Armenia and take all the efforts towards ensuring the environment and conditions necessary for French businessmen to carry out activities in Armenia," Minister Karayan said in his turn.
