In a battle of super middleweight veterans, former two division world champion Arthur Abraham (47-6, 30 KOs) had his fair share of trouble in winning a twelve round split decision over Patrick Nielsen (29-3, 14 KOs), who was coming off a stoppage loss at the hands of John Ryder, to capture the WBO International title, Boxing Scene reports.
The scores were 115-113 for Nielsen, 116-112 for Abraham, 116-112 for Abraham. There mixed reactions to the outcome, with some observers believing that Nielsen had done enough to gain the win.
