Turkey Summons Italian Ambassador after Armenian Genocide Motion

The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Italian ambassador to Ankara, Massimo Gaiani, following a motion submitted to the Italian parliament to recognise the Armenian genocide, Ahvalnews reports.

The Italian parliament is preparing to vote on the motion submitted by the country’s anti-establishment Five Star Movement to the Chamber of Deputies on the 1915 massacre Armenians during World War One.

Italy’s nine regional councils have already recognized the Armenian genocide.
