Armenia Planning to Get New Fighter Jets in January-February: DM

Armenia is planning to get multi-target fighter jets SU-30SM in December, 2019 or in January-February, according to the contract signed with Russia, Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan told the reporters today.

He said Armenia’s Armed Forces are purchasing new up-to-date weaponry, aysor.am reports.

“We are purchasing both by contracts and loan programs,” the minister said.

Asked from what countries Armenia is purchasing weapons, Tonoyan said from 4 countries minimum.

He also stated that the Russian 102d military base is being upgraded but the number of servicemen is not planned to be increased.
