The Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, Met With the Delegation of Representatives of the European Council's Presidency and the European Union
On January 21, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with the delegation of representatives of the European Council's presidency and the European Union. The delegation included Isabelle Dumont, Advisor to the Diplomatic Service of the French Presidency; Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus; Bryce Rockefoy, Ambassador of the EU Eastern Partnership Affairs; Magdalena Grono, Special Adviser to the President of the European Council; as well as the Andrea Wiktorin, the EU representative in Armenia, and the French Ambassador to Armenia Anne Louyot.
Welcoming each other, the parties expressed satisfaction with the active Armenia-EU cooperation. The Secretary of the Security Council stressed Armenia's readiness to continue cooperation with the EU in the process of democratization of Armenia and maintaining security in the region.
During the meeting, the parties referred to the situation around the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. In this context, it was emphasized that the process of demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border should be started as soon as possible. Moreover, for that purpose, an appropriate atmosphere should be created.
Isabelle Dumont, Advisor to the French President's Diplomatic Unit and Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, referring to humanitarian issues, stressed that the EU is actively working to resolve the crisis over prisoners of war as soon as possible.
