Patriarch Kirill, Pope Francis May Meet This Year: Russian Orthodox Church

A personal meeting between Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Pope Francis may be organized this year, Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations Hilarion said on Sunday, TASS reports.
The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, said on March 9 that the work on a possible meeting between Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis was complicated because of the situation in Ukraine.
"I hope the meeting will finally be held this year. It will be a personal meeting," Metropolitan Hilarion said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.
The first meeting between Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis took place in Havana in 2016.
