Education Reform Process Discussed at a Consultation Chaired by the Prime Minister
A consultation on the agenda and process of the education reforms took place chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Issues related to the development of education strategy, and in this context, reforms in higher, vocational and general education were discussed. Reference was made to the regulations proposed by the draft law "On Higher Education and Science", the standards and strategic guidelines of higher education quality, the development of professional skills of the teaching staff, opportunities for education in foreign languages, the creation of a creative academic environment, and other issues. The process of vocational education reform was presented, the works that have already started in the field of general education were discussed.
The Prime Minister stressed that the reform of the education sector is one of the absolute priorities of the Government, and strategic solutions must be pursued in this area, ensuring the interoperability of the general education - vocational education - higher education chain. The Prime Minister noted that the working discussions on the education strategy should be intensively continued, focusing on the solution of the issues related to the content of education, establishment of physical infrastructure and ensuring high-quality professional staff.
