Armenia Security Council Chief on Berdzor, Aghavno Villages’ Fate: We Have 1.5 Years to Find Solutions
We have been discussing issues related to Berdzor [(Lachin)] and Aghavno [villages] with our colleagues in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] since November 9. Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, announced this Thursday at the press briefing after the Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia, NEWS.am reports.
"The Artsakh authorities are working on this part; they have talked about this in public, too. We still have time to find solutions for the [Lachin] road and for the residents [of the aforesaid villages]. We have about 1.5 years, we will work with the Artsakh government and find solutions," he said.
"It's not like when we talked about the peace agenda, we thought that everything would be very easy; we know about its difficulties. But, also, we realize that in order to be able to ensure long-term security in our region, its possible option is the peace agenda; we will continue to work in this direction. But, also, we realize that it does not depend only on Armenia; this is also the reason why we work with all international partners to advance the peace agenda," Armen Grigoryan stated.
