The Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan Met With Ali Shamkhani

On July 7, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The SC secretaries emphasized the t of sustainable development of multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries and, in that context, stressed the importance of bilateral economic interaction and the need for its development.
In the context of Armenian-Iranian economic relations and especially the development of Syunik, the importance of Iran's Chabahar port was particularly emphasized. Both sides highly appreciated the readiness of the parties to continue cooperation within the framework of the Meghri Free Economic Zone and the North-South Road Corridor.
The Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, presented the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, stressing that there is no discussion on the corridor logic. From his side, the Secretary of the Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani noted that in the above context, the principles of territorial integrity of states and the inviolability of borders should be respected.
A. Grigoryan also presented Armenia's approaches to ensuring regional security and regional unblocking, within the framework of which the Secretary of the Security Council of Iran emphasized Tehran's readiness to contribute to the maintenance of the South Caucasus' security.
The parties agreed to organize the next meeting at the Armenia-Iran border to continue the dialogue.
