German Foreign Minister Burbock called the photo of Putin with Erdogan and Raisi a challenge for NATO
German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for taking a picture of him with Russian and Iranian leaders Vladimir Putin and Ibrahim Raisi, ZDF reports.
She said that Erdogan’s presence next to the Russian and Iranian leaders is ''to put it mildly, a challenge for NATO. She stressed that it was ''simply incomprehensible.''
Burbock noted that Turkey, as a member of NATO, provides Ukraine with ''massive military support'' and participates in a recent agreement to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain.
''THAT’S WHY THIS PHOTO IS MORE THAN INCOMPREHENSIBLE TO ME, ESPECIALLY FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A NATO MEMBER,'' EXPLAINED THE HEAD OF THE GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTRY.
On July 19, trilateral talks were held in Tehran between the heads of Iran, Russia and Turkey. The leaders took a joint photo, holding hands.
