French Foreign Ministry confirms need to extend mandate of EU monitoring mission deployed in Armenia

French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna highlighted the necessity to extend the mandate of the EU monitoring mission deployed in Armenia since October 20, 2022, Armenpress reports.
''Through the monitoring of the border this mission has really restricted the danger of escalation'', the French FM said during a Q&A session in the parliament.
She stated that the tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan has not eased. Catherine Colonna reaffirmed the support of France and the European Union to Armenia and vowed to make constant efforts for the establishment of peace in the region.
