United States Chargé d'Affaires underscores need for full restoration of free movement through Lachin corridor
United States Embassy in Armenia Chargé d'Affaires Chip Laitinen expressed concern for the worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the ongoing impeded access along the Lachin corridor, the U.S. Embassy said in a statement on Chargé d'Affaires Chip Laitinen’s January 20 meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
“In a January 20 courtesy call, Chargé d'Affaires Chip Laitinen congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan on his appointment. CDA Laitinen expressed concern for the worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the ongoing impeded access along the Lachin corridor. He underscored the need for the full restoration of free movement through the corridor․ He also underscored our support for a sovereign, independent and democratic Armenia, at peace with its neighbors,” the U.S. Embassy said.
