Russia and China Come Closer on Economic Ground

Russia’s Federation Council ratified the intergovernmental treaty on export of natural gas from Russia to China. A year ago the countries signed a 30 year contract on gas exports through the eastern route to China. Gazprom and CNPC are involved in the deal, Vestnikkavkaz reports.

The capacity of the pipeline is 5 billion cubic meters, which is planned to operate late in 2018. Before its full use the capacity of the pipeline is going to be increased to 38 billion cubic meters in the future.

Trade and economic relations between China and Russia are developing in very fast rate. Trade turnover reached $95 billion in 2014 and they are going to make it $100 billion for this year.
