YEPP Adopted a Resolution on Armenian Genocide

At the 10th Congress of the Youth Organization of the European People's Party (YEPP) in Portugal a resolution on the recognition and condemnation of the genocides of Armenians, Pontian Greeks and Assyrians was adopted.

In the document it is particularly said: "The youth wing of the EPP calls on the member-states of the EU and the Council of Europe, as well as international organizations to recognize and restore the historical realities in the memory of the victims of the genocides of Armenians, Pontian Greeks and Assyrians. All the interested sides recognize the genocide of Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians and declare April 24 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, and May 19 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of genocide of Pontian Greeks."

The 10th Congress of the YEPP was attended by more than 250 young leaders from 40 countries, including the delegation of the youth wing of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, led by Karen Avagyan.
