Cher apologized on Wednesday, June 29, for using a bomb emoji in a tweet about the Istanbul airport terror attack .
The music legend, 70, attempted to show her support for the victims on Twitter on Tuesday, June 28, writing: "WE ALL PRAY FOR INNOCENT PPL IN TURKEY AIRPORT."
She added a bomb emoji and an explosion emoji. Cher immediately received backlash from followers who believed her placement of the emojis in a tweet about the tragedy was inappropriate.
Afterwards she apologized tweeting:
