Arpine Hovsepyan: The Position of Armenia on Syria Was Expressed Through Practical Steps
In "Novosti-Armenia" press club, during a meeting with reporters, an expert of "Insight" Analytical Center For Applied Policy and Research, Arpine Hovsepyan noted that Armenia has not expressed its position on the Syrian conflict or Syrian government in an open way or by loud statements, instead we have observed the stance of Armenia in practical initiatives
"Armenian continued to have its diplomatic representation in Syria. In Alleppo, the consulate of Armenia was the only diplomatic representation, which continued to operate even when the city was in a blockade," noted the expert.
As another important direction, Aripne Hovsepyan highligted the efforts aimed at relieving humanitarian crisis and the readiness of Armenia to accept Syrian refugees.
Referring to the relations of Armenia with the Gulf countries, the expert noted: "We witness a progress in this direction, particularly recently the active visits were organized to these countries."
According to Arpine Hovsepyan, in terms of attracting new investments this is a prospective sphere.
"In the foreign economic relations of those countries, there is a component of capital outflaw, consequently, there is a real posibility of the success for joint-investmennt projects."
