Canada and Armenia Committed to Deepen Parliamentary relations

On October 17, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Armenia John Ronald Kur, official page of RA National Assembly reports.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Arpine Hovhannisyan has noted that the Armenian-Canadian relations sustainably develop, and the two countries have the best traditions of friendship and cooperation. In this context the RA NA Deputy Speaker has underlined the importance of the development of the inter-parliamentary relations and the active cooperation of the Friendship Groups.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Armenia expressed readiness to promote the further deepening of the Armenian-Canadian parliamentary relations and the activation of the mutual visits. In Mr Kur’s word, the year is special by the fact that the 25^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Armenia and Canada is marked.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the holding of Francophonie Summit in Armenia in 2018. The parties highlighted the cooperation in fighting corruption, in new information technologies and in other spheres.
