State Department Compared US-Turkey Relations with Marriage

The head of the press service of the US State Department, Heather Nauert, compared US relations with Turkey to the life of spouses in a marriage, between which there are skirmishes, but after that one of them regrets about his words, the official page of the US State Department reports.
Talking on Turkey she particularly noted: "Well, as we've seen this year, there are some countries where we have - our relationship with these countries can ebb and flow sometimes. You have - like a marriage. You have a good day and sometimes you have a bad day, right?"
However, she added that Turkey is a NATO member and it is a valued ally of the United States.
