Unidentified People Opened Fire Towards Armenian Organization in Brussels
Unidentified people opened fire at the Office "Sahakyan Union" of the Armenian community in Schaerbeek neighborhood of Brussels, Belgium, Panorama.am reports, referring to Ermenihaber The incident took place at night of January 5.
According to the source, fortunately, nobody suffered during the attack, as the door and windows of the building were damaged. The organization does not operate currently.
It is believed the attack in the mostly Turkish-populated district of the Belgian capital was motivated by nationalism, with the source citing the date of the assault conducted on the eve of the Christmas.
Tensions have been running high in the immigrant Turkish community of Brussels, following the decree by Emir Kan, the Turkish head of the municipality, banning organization of Kurdish rallies in the district.
