Two-time world champion Evgenia Medvedeva (Babasyan) will not perform at the World Championship in Milan, Sovsport.ru reports referring to the official website of the Russian Federation of figure skating.
At the end of last week, the 18-year-old Russian figure skater underwent a medical examination in connection with a right foot injury, which she received last autumn.
Based on the results of the examination, doctors concluded that in order to avoid possible surgical intervention, Medvedeva must strictly limit the high specific foot loads that occur mostly when jump elements are performed. Thus she needs to pass a medical treatment.
