Azerbaijan Refuses to Return Armenian Captive Karen Ghazaryan: Pashinyan
Armenia’s acting PM Nikol Pashinyan is meeting today with parents of Armenian captive in Azerbaijan Karen Ghazaryan, ''Aysor'' reports.
"The issue of Karen Ghazaryan is not an easy one. As you know Azerbaijan has made semi-official proposal to exchange all for all," Pashinyan said during his campaign in Noyemberyan.
"The situation seems simple, but in reality it is not so. Two citizens of Azerbaijan are convicted in Arstakh one for 20 years, the other for life because of killing two citizens of Artsakh," Pashinyan said, adding that the families of the murdered would hardly agree to handing the criminals to the Azerbaijani side.
Pashinyan said if they are handed, Azerbaijan will again erect new ramilsafarovs from them.
According to him, they continue negotiations with Azerbaijan over Karen Ghazaryan, but Baku refuses to return him.
"They say all for all. Today you are keeping posts "Return our Karen", but I say that Karen is ours too. Let no such impression be created as if Karen is not the ones standing on this platform," Pashinyan said, adding that all the diplomatic efforts will be undertaken for the solution of the issue.
"Azerbaijan has to return Karen Ghazaryan. We will raise this issue in all international instances," Pashinyan said.
