Armenia Didn't Ask to Postpone CSTO Summit: Nikol Pashinyan

The issue on appointment of CSTO secretary general will be solved via consensus, Armenia’s acting PM Nikol Pashinyan told the reporters today, 'Aysor' reports.

As to yesterday's statement of the aide to the Russian president Yuri Ushakov who said that the CSTO summit has been postponed at the request of the Armenian side, Pashinyan said his spokesperson as well as he himself have already stated what happened.

''Armenia has not requested or proposed anything. We have stated that we have our candidate for the post of the CSTO secretary general and continue negotiating over him,'' he said.

Asked why the Russian side came up with such statement, the acting PM said, “I cannot say, it is rather strange.''
