The Armed Forces will be Equipped with Contemporary Weaponry. Bako Sahakyan

On 20 December President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan participated at the plenary meeting of the National Assembly dedicated to the approval of the 2019 draft state budget, Artsakhpress reports.

In his speech Bako Sahakyan touched upon certain aspects of the draft budget.
"The budget reflects the fundamental principles of our country's economic development based on such components as dynamically and proportionally developing economy, ensuring high level of inter-Armenian economic integration and preserving the most important attributes of the social state. Army building, security, and civil defense spheres have always been in the spotlight of special attention. From now on, everything possible will be done to consistently increase the combat readiness of the army, equip the armed forces with contemporary weaponry, strengthen and modernize the civil defense system, solve social problems of servicemen, veterans and the disabled," highlighted President Sahakyan.

I want to underline that during the discussion of the draft budget more than 100 written proposals have been submitted by the NA factions and individual MPs, which were discussed by the government. Some of them were adopted and included in the final version of the draft budget. There are proposals that are not included in the state budget but are worth the special attention and a number of ideas will be taken into account during the implementation of financial and economic policies and programs. A number of other proposals have not been included in the draft budget, taking into account the level of available opportunities. They will be studied and will be discussed, "Bako Sahakyan noted.

According to the Head of the State, 2019 draft state budget envisages a significant increase in budget allocations by 6.5% for the development of branches of the economy.

"In agricultural sector the main emphasis has been placed on intensive development, conceptual approaches, particularly in irrigation sector, where AMD 600 million is envisaged for the introduction of water saving technologies and 400 million drams for the artesian well construction and renovation project.

We have great expectations from the energy sector, it’s continuous development will give impetus to the progress of other sectors of the economy . One of the important directions for the country's economic progress remains the development of infrastructures where a special emphasize is put to the construction and modernization of the transport network. Capital investment program has increased by more than 9%.

The budget of 2019 provides considerable resources for solving housing problems. The social sphere will be in the focus of our attention, "said Bako Sahakyan.
