The Chairpersons of Eleven Standing Committees of NA of Armenia Are Elected
The chairpersons of all eleven standing committees of the new National Assembly (NA) of Armenia have been elected, News.am reports.
Vahagn Hovakimyan, Chairman of the NA Committee on Counting, on Friday noted about the aforesaid at Friday’s session of the new parliament.
As reported earlier, the new legislature of Armenia will have eleven standing committees, instead of the previous nine. Eight of these committees will be headed by the majority "My Step" Faction, the "Prosperous Armenia" Faction will head two committees, and the "Bright Armenia" Faction—one.
And according to the results of Friday’s respective voting by the MPs, Narek Zeynalyan will head the Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs; Ruben Rubinyan will chair the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations; Mkhitar Hayrapetyan will lead the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport; Arman Yeghoyan will preside over the Standing Committee on European Integration; "Prosperous Armenia" Faction member Naira Zohrabyan will be chairperson of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs; Andranik Kocharyan will head the Standing Committee on Defense and Security; Vladimir Vardanyan will chair the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs; "Prosperous Armenia" Faction’s Mikayel Melkumyan will lead the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration; Varazdat Karapetyan will preside over the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment; Babken Tunyan will be chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs; and "Bright Armenia" Faction member Mane Tandilyan will lead the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
