Theresa May has been accused of dragging her feet over a new law that could have protected Bloody Sunday veterans facing murder charges on Thursday, telegraph.co reported.
Senior officials within the Ministry of Defence (MoD) have complained that Downing Street ignored for over a year its demands for a statute of limitations on historic prosecutions of military personnel.
Their disquiet comes ahead of an announcement on Thursday over whether 17 former paratroopers will be prosecuted for murder and other offences over the fatal shootings of civil rights protesters in Londonderry in 1972.
