President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that the results of exit polls give him a reason to call Volodymyr Zelensky and congratulate him, as Poroshenko said delivering a speech in his headquarters, 112 Ukraine broadcasted it.

Petro Poroshenko also stated that he will leave the post of the head of the state but he will not leave the politics.

Ukrainian leader emphasized that everything will be good in Ukraine.

“I am the optimist and I emphasize that everything will be good and Ukraine will be successful, great, European state. And it is the task of the authority and opposition and we will not withdraw from the responsibility”, Poroshenko said.

He hopes to have time to sign the law on language, if parliament adopts it within the next week.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Zelensky would have a strong opposition, and the country will benefit from that.

“I love Ukraine. I do. I love my dear Ukrainian people. I was guided by this feeling for years of my difficult presidency. People were telling a lot of terrible dirt about me over these years. If I could believe it, I would not vote for myself,” he said.

He stated that “history will set things right”.
