PM Pashinyan Holds Farewell Meeting with Outgoing Republic of Korea Ambassador
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Woo Yoon-keun.
Hailing the Ambassador’s fruitful activities in Armenia, the Prime Minister wished him every success in his career. Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the need for continued development of Armenia-South Korea relations, emphasizing that the Armenian government is keen to build multifaceted ties with the Republic of Korea. The Premier attached importance to reciprocated top-level visits and asked the Ambassador to convey to the President of South Korea his invitation to visit Armenia.
Thankful for close cooperation, the Ambassador stressed that the Korean authorities are prepared to develop partnerships with Armenia at both governmental and parliamentary levels. The Ambassador said bilateral cooperation has been on the rise in tourism and humanitarian fields over the past few years. He advised that the number of Armenia-bound South Korean tourists redoubled to reach the mark of 7000 in 2018 as compared to 2017.
Prime Minister Pashinyan said Armenia has entered a new important stage of development: the Government’s objective is to carry out an economic revolution in the country. The Premier found the South Korean economic development experience interesting and expressed hope for cooperation in this area. Convinced that the ongoing democratic reforms will help improve the business climate in Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the development and enhancement of business ties in terms of boosting economic cooperation between Armenia and South Korea.
The parties discussed other cooperation-related issues during the meeting.
